    I stumbled across this website while looking for crossbow
    info. I belong to a live action role play group called Amtgard. Think of
    D&D in live action. I have a reproduction of an English long bow in 30lb
    draw weight that I use, but really want to use a crossbow. The few I have seen
    used are all modern type, but I want one more in period. I have looked at all
    the great bows the people of this forum have made and I have to say I’m blown
    away by the quality. I’m no stranger to wood or metal working, it’s just the
    basics of the crossbow that I was unsure of.
    I taught myself how to make chainmail so I know with the photo essay
    that Lightly made and lots of question I can teach myself how to do this.

    Hello Rafn,

    Welcome to the forum.

    In my opinion if you built a bow, then a crossbow should be just as easy. What might prove difficult thou is passing the weapons check at your events...or have the rules regarding poundage finally changed?

    Not a big fan of D&D or fighting with foam swords, but I did enjoy countless sword swings over my head when doing Sambo , so read up and have fun building your stuff.
