    There's an interesting bit of history on Hovey's Blog today where he shows a short video and talks about some of the early production crossbows and as always, more good stuff. There's even a shot and a bit about someone we know on there too.

    William Hovey Smith bought a crossbow from me some years ago. He came to my shop and we spent an afternoon chatting about crossbows and lore... I taught him how to make bowstrings. A very nice guy, doomed to a terrible job.... travelling around the country hunting, fishing, writing about it. Poor fella, it must be a tough life, huh? Geezer
