The other parents at school have been talking about an intervention. I was asked about how many bows I have made since I did the stone bows with the 7th grade last year.
These are the in house bows, with one in progress, and 2 more on the workbench and several locks in parts.

This one was sent as a secret Santa gift to California.

I like using the cheap $10 fiberglass prods for making little bows. It is cheap and I get to work on my woodworking. That is the main reason for making so many; you only get good through practice.

Thanks goes out to everyone on this forum for providing a friendly place to exchange thoughts on everyone's favourite weapon.

Ha ha I'm sure it is. The lil guy on the right is actually what I'm aiming for my first build.

That is a claplock. My 8 year old made it all by herself except for the clap and the hole for the lock.

There are certainly worse diseases to contract, Chriso!
My wife reminds me, somewhat wistfully at times, of all the other hobbies and pursuits I used to enjoy before I got obsessed with building crossbows. Maybe four years since the idea got into my head that I wanted to build "a" crossbow, and now 9 finished, 3 in progress, parts in the shop for half a dozen more, and no hope for a cure!

Ed: yep, Morganna built it. I made the lock and drilled the holes for the lock, she did the rest, including the tickler. She use a plane, rasp, and 1/4" (6mm) chisel. It took her about 6 hours.
Gnome: It seems like building these things is like restoring a model T, eventually you have more than one in parts, so you just keep putting them together.
