I tried to post more but it kept loading the same photo over..., I'll try to put some more pic on here if I can get'em loaded.

My grove was done with a small curve hand held chisel, curved right up the center and then use a member idea and use a 3/8 inch dowel about 2 to 3 inches long with sandpaper. Sanded it down til it got dead center of the 3/8" dowel.

Nice work on the groove! I also used a chisel on my first crossbow. Was really nervous that I was going to screw it up. Again good job!

    Euell,
that is some very neat, precise looking work. You've got a "clean build style," something I've never been accused of.  sander
You may find the bolt groove a bit too deep once you get everything assembled, but I'm sure you can adjust for that if that proves to be the case.

jds6 the way I curved it is I put a center line down the middle, put two lines on both sides of the center line at 3/16 of an inch, for a 3/8" dowel. Then curved just inside the lines, not going pass my lines the rest was sanding. For every four strokes checking my work, making sure I didn't go pass my marks.

Gnome I still have some more work that needs to be done, some of the edges will be rounded off, like the bottom and the backside, and as for my grove I'll check it out when I get the prod and string installed. Thanks for your input on my grove.
