Just figured I would show you all my progress so far. The stock is mahogany, the nut is glass filled acetal delrin and the nut block is plain delrin. I managed to score a small fortune in glass filled acetal and delrin from a local machine shop for next to nothing. I plan on planking the table with some delrin sheeting that I acquired. The irons and prod are from Alcem. The stirrup and trigger are hand made. The GF and I made the safety cord out of hemp string from the local craft store. I still have to cut out the sides and give it some more curves but I think its coming along nicely.

1/15/16 Im almost done. Got it stained today and put it all together. Just need to make a bottom trigger plate and a small plate for the trigger pin. Gonna try to span it this weekend. Once im done its on to making some bolts and tuning this thing. Here is to me not putting my eye out!

Strong work! Glass filled acetal? I'd never heard of it before, but it looks like it might be interesting to work with if I can get my hands on any. Keep us posted on the progress.

Yeah! I never heard of glass acetal before either. The stuff I have is in 2 inch diameter rod form. The shop owner I got the stuff off of says its super strong. An added plus is that it looks like natural horn or bone. When he showed it to me I snapped up all he had. Got enough to make about 10  nuts. He also said it goes for about $8 an inch  Shocked I used a 1- 3/4 inch hole saw with a 1/4 inch pilot bit to cut out the basic form of the nut. It took me almost a half an hour to cut the inch thick piece. My little drill press had a hard time.
