    inlet vs seperate mechinism

Post by phuphuphnik on Thu Dec 31, 2015 9:11 am

Did the more complex locks have a separate lock that set in the stock or was it built into the wood. To better explain, a multi lever lock could be built into 2 plates with spacers and set into a morticed hole in a stock. It could also be built right into a wood stock. Were both ways used? I have a Dutch book with some xrays that  seem to indicate they were pinned right into the stock. I guess this is precise enough....

    Cheers and Happy New Years
