Good morning.
I just ordered a crossbow prod Saturday #6732 From alcheminc for my project Powermaster crossbow i had recently purchased & am hoping for the prod weight to be possibly around 100 pounds but if it's at 110 I can adjust my bolts that I'm building, less is okay.
I purchased this crossbow from a yard sale & am impressed that it's all there & functions, I purchased it to use as a demonstrator primarily for my archery class where I show the differences of the types of archery equipment with maybe a demonstration of use but doing some research i found that one of the weak points of this crossbow was it's aluminum prod which is why i ordered one from them.
I would like to be able to shoot this from time to time & not worry about a failure that could injure someone.
My question to you is:
As a temporary build of bolts, I'm taking some Easton XX75 2114's that were too short for typical students with a vertical bow, removing the nocks & cutting them down to 21.25" length, inserting a a Gold Tip Entrada 600 as a spine & weight enhancer then installing a 150gr. point with 5" feathers, total weight is 532gr.
Is this enough as a safe shooting bolt?
I'm basing my experience of spine of an arrow to the weight & draw length of a typical recurve, longbow or compound.
I'm also basing my experience of minimum arrow weight be 5 grain per pound of bow weight.
Would appreciate your thoughts on this.
