    Making a tickler

Post by fester on Thu Dec 21, 2017 3:41 am

Will i be able to cold bend 10mm mild steel square bar in a vice to make a trigger? Im thinking i could use a length of pipe to slide over to use as a lever

Well, maybe you will be able to bend your tickler/trigger cold in a bench vise, but again, maybe you'll end up ripping the vise out of the bench (I have seen this done) I recommend applying some heat.  You might be able to do that with a propane/mapp gas torch, but if you know anybody with a welding torch, that does it really well.  Geezer.

PS: I have also used charcoal in a barbeque pit, with a hair-dryer for a blower to heat iron or brass red hot pretty darned quick.  Geezer.
