Here is a link to master crossbow maker Phil Abrams, he makes all his crossbows with a saw file and many hours of loving work in his humble work shop, I have seen these in person and they are amazing to behold the craftmsmanship involved,

click on links to handmade crossbows pics..

Visit the gallery at his web site

and yes they all work very well as shooters as well as art..

Here is a link to a spanish web site that can be translated to english by pressing the flags and look in this Gallery for a awesome collection of crossbows

Both of these links are worth a visit for views of awesome crossbows..

Thanks for the links and welcome to The Arbalist handmade,

Lots of familiar faces and crossbows on that spanish website...and Phil Abrahams work...he has become a real inspiration to quite a few crossbow builders out there...I also like to admire his work...in fact up until now I was convinced he had a CNC plasma table in his back pocket Very Happy ...turned out I was wrong...brutally elegant...Bravo!handmade crossbows 51815

I also like to bring something to the party...my favorite drink..."molotov". drunken drunken drunken

Those designs indeed are very interesting, but do you really believe in those astronomical speeds they claim (360+ fps)?

The statistics do seem optimistic. I would feel better about it if the weight of the projectile were specified as well.

At 4:22 in the video, you can catch a sort of a glimpse of what is going on mechanically in the bows with ridged, pivoted limbs. There is a big coil spring in the stock. Pulling back the limbs compresses the spring by means of levers.

I think you guys are on the right track here.

Even though it looks like it was filmed with a cell phone, you can catch a glimpse of the arrows they are using. Smile

But other than that, the crossbows do look very unique ...and heavy to boot Razz ...not a big fan of their bigger models, but the little guys are creepy little devils. cheers

I don't really hold with shooting other peoples property, including, but not limited to warning signs. It gives the sport a bad name.
