    New builder with questions!

    Greetings to the Forum,
    My first post with questions concerning my first build.

    Using information gathered here over the past several weeks, and from David Watson's
    "Iolo's First book of Crossbows", I have made an oak tiller w/ a delrin roller in a module
    configuration. Many, many thanks for all of that invaluable assistance.
    I am now addressing the prod. I have a 2" x 36" x 3/16 piece of 7075 al that I have roughed to these dimensions.
    1 3/4 center width, 32" tip to tip, 7/8 wide at this tip.
    1. Based on 3/16 thickness, what width/length should I make the string posts?
    2. Is it acceptable to roll a small amount of recurve at the tips?
    3. If so, generally how would recurve affect the parameter of the prod, if at all?
    4. In other projects, I have used a product called Moly Resin to finish metal components.
    Application requires heating component to 100 F., spray on Moly Resin, cure @300 F
    for 1 hour. My question is, would that procedure possible have an adverse affect on the
    temper of the 7075 aluminum?

    i do not think that you change the temper or hardness of your alu. the timespan and temerature are to low for that.
    but you will have to look for technical datasheets of alu producers what these temperatures really do.
    most suppliers have them on their websites.
