HI, All: I've read some posts re. "Power-Tuff" billets. However, I am unable to find it at the Gordon Composites web-site. I am about to construct a prod and would like to make it from the Power-Tuff material. Otherwise, I will be making a prod from wood and fiberglass laminations which will have to be strung and re-strung each time I use the crossbow or it will take a permanent set and/or lose strength. All that would really be a pain in the neck and is something I wish to avoid. With the power-tuff, I can leave the prod strung indefinitely without harm. Thanks

Re: Power-Tuff
That stuff looks interesting. I have looked at there website before. I wonder if it looses any strength if it cut? I suppose getting preformed limbs would be a little expensive for a small order.

Re: Power-Tuff
I think we touched ends a bit in a few topics about power-tuff here and there...and Kiwijim actually went ahead and built a bow with it later...a sweet looking one too.
Shaping it shouldn't do anything out of the ordinary, if the proper adjustments are done on the belly and fibers on the back remain unharmed I don't see any reason for it to lose any punch/frature/etc. ... What gets to me though is the little reading I'm doing right now on vibratory tumblers and their use. In the video below, there is a moment when limbs are measured with a micrometer to a thousandths of an inch and then tossed into a tumbler filled with griding medium - for smoothing the rough fibers? then why measure it so precisely if it's all going to be randomly ground to dust...I don't get it.
