    Greetings!
I've been making wooden bows for a little over a year now (turns out it is an addiction), and, of course, one thing leads to another, and so here I am. I was introduced to archery through the local SCA group, coveted a fine wooden bow the likes of which I couldn't afford, and discovered that I could actually make my own. I make no claims to any particular level of skill or knowledge, but the fun is in the making , especially when that involves "primitive", or pre-industrial methods. My interests here are mainly medieval, and while there's certainly nothing wrong with FG, I've never actually used it myself (yet). I use modern glues, and materials, and tools, where appropriate, though my goal is always to have at least some understanding of how something was done in period (the fun is also in the learning Wink ).
I'm amazed (and humbled) by the work I've seen here, and hope, with your help, to learn, and to make, too.
    Thanks,
    Frode

    Hi Frode,

Good to have another traditional bowmaker on board! I've been making crossbows more or less actively for like ~12 years now. However, I've only recently (~2 years ago) delved into world of wooden bows: of course after buying and reading all of the Traditional Bowyer's Bibles. Most interesting stuff, I have to say.

Anyways, after making a few wooden crossbow prods more I'll start some wooden prod articles to our Wiki. Maybe you too have learned something on the that subject you could share?
