    From the Basque Country...

Post by Iagoba on Tue Aug 23, 2011 8:34 am

I'm interested in the medieval crossbows, as they were the weapon of choice (together with the javelins) of this part of Europe, for open war and for private wars...and I have the intention of building the first since those times, so anything related to sources and how-to is of my interest Very Happy

As a curiosity, there were several crossbow makers among the moors living in Navarra, up to 1512...and they served their king in his French domains too, as far as Cherbourg...

    Welcome to the forum Iagoba.

Since your interested in Spanish crossbows:

http://thearbalistguild.forumotion.com/t333-16th-century-spanish-crossbow-and-gaffe That thread contains some pictures of a Spanish crossbow that was in a local museaum. I think I have a couple of different pictures if your interested.
