Nice build Joerg...and...you're a brave man. Smile Smile Smile

I was really hoping there was room for a cheek rest. Not so much for
improving the mount and accuracy(although these are beneficial Smile ), but to serve as a barrier between the
face and the moving components. I know there isn't much danger, a band slap in the face at worst, but still.

Thank you for sharing your work with us, I like the rollers a lot starting from the hollow "V" slingshot and now this. Really looking forward to your forum developing and wondering what wicked slings your guys will present. You're quite an inspiring fellow and definitely leave plenty of room for others to get in on the fun - took me a while to figure why you build things leaving room for improvement Very Happy .

And I know there will be quite a few people who will experience the same
thing I did when first hearing a Crossbow reference made, but
considering it was done primarily to avoid issues with the law...I take
an approach of understanding over tradition. I hope others are just as understanding.

Guys, don't negative rep the man. Neutral

    • Calling them Rifles would be just as unorthodox *if not more*.

    • Ever hear someone depreciating a crossbow by calling it a "crossgun"? same thing with a slingshot...it doesn't become a gun when you add a stock and a trigger...it simply becomes a crossbow with an alternative means of accelerating the projectile. Laughing
Thank you all for hearing me out...please go on building the weapons that your hearts desire. Smile

    Best Regards,

    Ivo

Joerg, that really finished up nicely.

Thank for the how too video, That was what I was looking for.

Some thing like that would be really what I need to go after some rabbits.

Joerg you are a STAR i love watching your vid's so much and inspire me to want to make some cool vid's,i am laughing out loud watching them bad ass slingshot's kick ass,man they ROCK.I got one all done that is on you tube but i cannot access it yet i think it take's a little while. On this video i shoot an 8mm thick toughened alloy plate with a crossbow bullet made from a six inch nail and carbon fibre tubing it is 300 grn's and as long as the nail is perfectly straight then accuracy is very good. The best way is to use steel rod instead of nail's as this is also much more cost effective and also much more accurate as nail's are never perfectly straight as i missed the house brick on the second shot anyway i think you will find this video quite fascinating and it was a good ol laugh making it too. king

Ivo checking in to the slingshot portal.

Had no internet for a few days and decided to go play with this design a bit...not yet ready to build off of, but certainly a dreamer. drunken

Tried incorporating a spanning lever similar to the one on AK-48 Crossbow.

    Spoiler:

And to do that had to reposition the riser so that it mount upside-down compared to the way it was done on the original. Also I figured it could be made a bit more compact with the addition of two more rollers.

I am of two minds on this design. There are issues that may follow due to friction and inertia, but that's something that will only be known if built. tongue
