I am building a crossbow and need someone skilled and willing to build custom limbs according to my plans/drawings/design, is there anyone around that has the necessary knowledge and skills for that???
It can be fiber or fiber/carbon or laminated wood(we will have to discuss about it), i am looking for speeds from 240 fps and up.
    Thank you everybody !!!

I have used prods from Elk Ridge Archery. They are a wood/fiberglass laminate and measure about 32 1/2" nock to nock (strung). I chronographed mine at 243 fps with a 428 grain bolt. It is about 157 pounds at 15" drawlength (measured from inside of prod to release catch).

Need custom crossbow limbs !!! Empty customlimbs...

why custom limbs? Excal or Middleton limbs at 13" draw will far exceed your expectations. You can get "seconds" from Excal pretty reasonable (slight finish flaws etc.)

Todds got a new Middleton 315 I believe, and perhaps soon an even more kick ass bow will be out soon. Like a 400 series perhaps.

Yes, I just got my Middleton 315 yesterday. It is quite a crossbow! Don't know if anyone here is interested in modern crossbows, but it you are curious I can post some pics and details about it.

Anyway back to the topic, Middleton or Excalibur limbs do have great performance but have the added challenge of mounting them on some sort of riser as they are two separate limbs. Where as the single piece prod is simpler to mount and more traditional if that is a consideration.

Back to modern crossbows, I had an Excalibur that I made a walnut stock for. But sold it last year. Maybe I might do the same with the Middleton 315.

I, me, and myself > Modern crossbow lover in the house! Laughing Well, to be honest I find everything to do with crossbows interesting and treat every department with the same amount of unlimited enthusiasm. cheers

    Ekhem....

    Custom limbs...

Agree with both guys, either Elkridge or a Modern Recurve manufacturer.

Unless of course you have a complex design in mind, say...duoflex? cyclops That might require a bit of searching and asking around.

Can you please be a *little* more specific about your build, that will make your questions more "answerable". Wink

    Good Luck,

    Ivo
