    Sorry fellas Empty Sorry fellas

    Post by Archer46176 Wed Mar 07, 2012 2:50 pm

Went ahead and deleted a few of my posts that I could find on the left side there. I figured since none of them were getting answered and one was basically swept under the carpet by a post after mine asking for plans I would do everyone the favor of deleting them.

I can appreciate the fact that many of you like to tinker with this or that. I do as well. The thing I don't like is not knowing how something works and not being able to find pertanent information on how something works without paying for it. Then seeing a post that says we should reverse engineer something when there is no breakdown.

As I said many of you may like dreaming about the innerworkings of things but I am not one so I will leave you to your forum and not bother any of you anymore. I have really gotten little help with any questions I have ever posted here anyway. Todd The Archer was about the only one who showed any interest in actually helping me with a few questions. Many people wanted to either tell me to buuy books sold by people here on the forum or wanted me to look at drawings of sophisticated trigger mechanisms that I don't have the capability to make...

So again I am sorry if any of you have been bothered by my being here and my questions.

Thank you for your sincerity Archer,

However, you're about a micron off on this. Smile

Thing with forums is that this thing is not as *live* as we'd all like it. Everyone is busy with something in other parts of their life...simple as that.
I, for example, run a dental lab...and while I do sit on the forum quite often, it's rarely for more than 15 minutes (mostly just to check on things). While it may be enough for a quick post, I do like to write stuff out and look up/draw up images to post in support of what I'm talking about - that usually takes about 1/2 an hour or more(that doesn't include the time spent thinking about it...not to mention that sometimes we just don't know the answer and need time to figure it out study scratch Sorry fellas 655936 )

Jjust give it some time and don't make any predictions. I also thought silence was a bad thing, but take it from me - it just means things are working in the background and will surface in time. Wink Sometimes, I let people think about what they asked. Sometimes the answer lies within the question itself - and all you gotta do is let it marinade and try it in practice...then come back with a feeling of success(not something even a 50 page long theory thread can offer) cyclops

So, don't stress over this thing too much.

About the plans...hmmm...that I do have to admit, I did decide to redirect the flow a bit (like all energy in space, things on this forum don't just disappear - they change Smile ) Plans are good to have, but they take time and we should consider that it's not coming out of our own pocket and should respect that. Like I said, it's a great idea to collaborate on breaking a project down together. It's much much faster, lots of interesting detail surface in the process, and even more importantly - ideas evolve as we all interpret things with different degrees of attention and experience...as opposed to just printing a template.
Plus, it contributes to the community and it's efficiency....more people have the answer to the question and it'll get answered quicker. At least that's how I see it. Very Happy

Just keep these few details in mind before making any predictions. I understand how it feels, but it's really simpler than that and not worth the trouble of stressing over.

If you ever have a question about something, just send me a PM and I'll get back to you on the issue.(usually I answer within 24hrs, but sometimes longer if I'm overloaded with work) Deal? Smile

    Later,

Archer, stick around. I too dig how you feel about not having questions answered, but you see sometimes a post that is years old that gets taken up. Some questions I have asked have never been answered. I dont let it bother me.

I am no engineer myself, and so I stick to what I know, and I do appreciate all the great info and conversations around here. Sometimes it is way beyond my understanding, but that is what happens when you declair yourself a music major. lol.

    Whatever you decide, good luck.

Archer, Ivo is right. A lot of the times the answer really does lie within the question itself. Someone not responding to a question just gives you more time to dig deep inside and really ponder the question. Had a similar experience last week. Everything worked out. Stick around, there is a lot to learn from this forum.
