Made this brickshooter for a US based TV network. Came out real good! I don't own the "real" footage, but the stills and the hispeed video is mine.

The video is NOT public, only for those who have the link.

    Enjoy!

Joerg: The brick-launcher is great, as usual. I really do enjoy watching you demo your wacky machines.
Do you have any idea what the maximum recovery-speed for elastic bands is? Could you make a rubber-powered machine that could crack 250 fps?
I can see it's wonderfully compact and particularly useful for long power-strokes at low draw, but I wonder what the limits are.
You probably wonder too, and that's part of your motivation? Nicht wahr?
    Geezer.

Geezer, extreme rubber bands can do up to 500 fps. But then you have to
use very thin rubber with much tapering (thinner at the pouch than at
the fork). Plus, the break between the draw and the release must be
zero. This whole thing requires very warm, humid weather.

250 fps is not a problem at all. In this video you can see me shooting a paintball at 102 m/s = 335 fps:

But I like momentum rather than speed. The devastation is just so much more spectacular. My experience: Once you reach 150 fps, then you are truly shooting. From then onwards, momentum rules.

Wow, that rocks! I'll have to try some rubber-powered machines. Geezer

Love it. That is one crazy slingshot.

Like the way you think Joerg. Momentum is really the way to go. Too many people get wrapped up in getting more speed our of there equipment and forget out momentum.
