I am in the process of making a four shot "revolver" crossbow powered with rubber (of course). It already works! Will soon present it.

I have done some research on the concept and found that Ridley Scott had the same idea... the movie prop makers at Zorg made a great weapon which I think would be quite functional.

I like that little thing a lot. Do you think a replica is worth the efforts?

I think it's possible to make a workable 4-shooter based on the pics. You would have to be careful to shoot the bows in the correct order, it would way a ton and be hellishly complex, but it would be possible.
    And NO, I won't make a four-shooter, or a three, or even a two. I think they're ridiculous. Geezer.

let's try "weigh" a ton, not 'way'.

Geezer, please make me a 5 shooter. Or a 10 shooter Smile

Joerg, this will be a really fun weapon. I can hardly wait to see what you come up with.

Just got a new book, "The Book of the Crossbow" By Ralph Payne-Gallwey. Was giving it a quick look through and noticed something in the section referred to as "Ancient Siege Engines" Specifically on page 302 ballista for throwing stone balls. Has anyone seen one of these before? I'm highly interested in such a device, partly because it reminds me of this post ( for obvious reasons )Can't find any pictures online , and only the conventional ballistas show up in searches. ???
