New here, but interested in crossbows for over 50 years but
some how never owned or even shot one. Six years ago bought a 100# prod from Alchem
and promptly plunked it in my dresser drawer. Up to date now with a working
bullet crossbow with what I think are some unusual features, one of which is an
    automatic safety.

I will post some photos as soon I muster up some courage!

    Welcome Buckeye!
I was born & raised in Toledo, but have spent my adult life almost everwhere else. Retired to a sailboat in Florida these days.

We'd love to see pix of your build. They inspire us!

The case is 9/16” wide and made to be removed easily from
the bottom of the laminated tiller. There are 2 apposing 3/8’ socket set screws
in the tiller located near the rear of case. Putting everything in a case made
it easy to incorporate an automatic safety.

I will do some additional pictures if the first one shows
    up.

Since this is my first build and experimental some
    questionable extra holes abound, Ha-Ha.

The nut (latch) has a superfluous curve and lightening holes
which will be omitted on the next. The inner parts are 3/16” wide, but that
should be ¼” min. due to spring scarcity.

Thanks I hope this stuff inspires some buddies ideas. The tiller is laminated from 9/16”
inner white oak and outer ¾” bubinga slabs glued with Titebond III. This tiller will not be shaped and finished till
I install sights and get some good groups at 10M.

I have been using .400 lead balls and .375 ball bearings for
ammo with it in a bench vise. So far the 5 shot groups are no better than
    1-1/2”.
