    jayhawk "rebuild" #2

Post by panne on Sat Dec 29, 2012 7:52 am

this one i pieced together from a couple of projects abandoned by other people. the notch lock was already installed but needed a few adjustments. the homemade aluminum prod it had was a total failure, so it became project scrap. i replaced it with an extra jayhawk prod shrink wrapped in deer rawhide. the wedges are osage orange. i may eventually trim the wedges and add side plates, but like the idea of being able to disassemble it for transport so i left it as is for now. it is definitely a fun and accurate backyard plinker. 70#@8 1/4" with a 3 1/2" brace.
