    Hello from Colorado

Post by Eorann on Thu Jan 03, 2013 9:22 pm

I just stumbled across this forum whilst doing a search for "crossbow books." I have decided that I need to expand my archery knowledge and would like to take up the crossbow, hopefully this year. I know very little about crossbows right now, and I hope to change that. I shoot in the SCA (OUTLANDS!) and if anyone could give me some pointers on what to get in a crossbow for SCA target shooting (not combat archery just yet), I would appreciate it. Or, you can freely ignore this and I will keep reading.
I was looking at the New World Arbalest website, and there are so many options.

Welcome! Lots of good background reading here.

Where in Colorado? I used to live in Fort Collins. Created the first Canton of Caerthe there which has since gone on to become a Barony. "Back in the day" when the Outlands was just being n created, I was the first Herald of the Principality -- first Outlandish Herald (all puns intended).

KenH - I am in Dragonsspine. Tomorrow is 12th Night and I plan on pestering as many people as I can with questions regarding crossbows. Did I mention I also think ballistas look like a lot of fun? But one thing at a time. Smile

Hi, see you're right at home here. So just a quick welcome from me as well.

I spent a little time in Colorado while in training for some Dental stuff I do, what a sweet place...felt like a bit of a vacation.

...ballistas look like a lot of fun....

Bows...Ballistas...I can see you are indeed at home here. Laughing Enjoy your stay!
