    I just stumbled across this forum whilst doing a search for "crossbow books." I have decided that I need to expand my archery knowledge and would like to take up the crossbow, hopefully this year. I know very little about crossbows right now, and I hope to change that. I shoot in the SCA (OUTLANDS!) and if anyone could give me some pointers on what to get in a crossbow for SCA target shooting (not combat archery just yet), I would appreciate it. Or, you can freely ignore this and I will keep reading.
    I was looking at the New World Arbalest website, and there are so many options.

    Better get behind a tree you'll soon be ambushed with advise and information ! Just dig in and look all through this web-site and throw a question or two out there , this is the best place to be concerning crossbows .... a great bunch of folks here !

    Welcome! Lots of good background reading here.

    Where in Colorado? I used to live in Fort Collins. Created the first Canton of Caerthe there which has since gone on to become a Barony. "Back in the day" when the Outlands was just being n created, I was the first Herald of the Principality -- first Outlandish Herald (all puns intended).

    KenH - I am in Dragonsspine. Tomorrow is 12th Night and I plan on pestering as many people as I can with questions regarding crossbows. Did I mention I also think ballistas look like a lot of fun? But one thing at a time. Smile

    Hi, see you're right at home here. So just a quick welcome from me as well.

    I spent a little time in Colorado while in training for some Dental stuff I do, what a sweet place...felt like a bit of a vacation.
