First,thanks Ivo,for the welcome.I chose the name 'Hermit ',cos I live in the bush in Northern Alberta...hunting country,in what is usually known as 'The Oil patch'.As a lifelong member of the General nuts and eccentrics club,I feel as tho' I've come home at last!(I should point out that nuts and eccentrics have their serious side,which this forum represents)makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!.But to be serious,I think this is an excellent forum.While reading the posts,I thought of a couple of tips that might be of help to members.Tung oil is an excellent stock finisher,not pricey,protects well,is easy to apply,and re-apply,and is not hard to find.For the bullet firing crossbow fraternity,potmetal is an alternative to lead,not quite as heavy,but with about the same melting point,and readily available as scrap.Very Environmental for bullets.I am looking forward to learning from,and maybe also contributing to the vast pool of knowledge this forum offers.
