    Hello Everyone,

My first crossbow build is progressing slowly but surely; there are some pictures below of the stock. So far I have inletted the stock for the used Excalibur trigger mech, and cut the arrow groove, as well as some general shaping. The stock is mahogany.

One question having to do with aesthetics, what do you think should happen with the finger groove? Do you think it would look best as is (with a rounded end), or should it curve down like it begins? Please give your opinions.

I have another crossbow build planned for the future, and I have already created the trigger mech for that one.

At the risk of sounding stupid, Don't ever forget your fingers. The past couple I've made , I made grips that automatically keep your fingers down and out of the way. Corse, you'd only make that mistake ONCE. It would just be harder to cock it with less fingers. eh  eh.

I took the finger danger into consideration.
I both made a finger groove where my fingers naturally want to be, as well as having the aluminum track extend over the edge of the stock as another caution

That's good thinking, cause they don't grow back. Seems to me ,a while ago , someone on the forum had such an accident. Also ,Never believe in safties . All mechanical things can break.
