My first post with questions concerning my first build.
Using information gathered here over the past several weeks, and from David Watson's
"Iolo's First book of Crossbows", I have made an oak tiller w/ a delrin roller in a module
configuration. Many, many thanks for all of that invaluable assistance.
I am now addressing the prod. I have a 2" x 36" x 3/16 piece of 7075 al that I have roughed to these dimensions.
1 3/4 center width, 32" tip to tip, 7/8 wide at this tip.
1. Based on 3/16 thickness, what width/length should I make the string posts?
2. Is it acceptable to roll a small amount of recurve at the tips?
3. If so, generally how would recurve affect the parameter of the prod, if at all?
4. In other projects, I have used a product called Moly Resin to finish metal components.
Application requires heating component to 100 F., spray on Moly Resin, cure @300 F
for 1 hour. My question is, would that procedure possible have an adverse affect on the
temper of the 7075 aluminum?
Thank You all again for this resource.
