Hello Everyone,
I've received a few complaints about some wonky controls and have been battling the same exact disappearance of text myself since day one...so I hear ya!
For those of you who haven't had the experience it goes like this...When you unintentionally click somewhere on the screen other than in the text entry window and then press TAB or Backspace or sometimes even a Space Bar...Your screen jumps to a different part of the page or goes to a different page altogether, resulting in the loss of a post you've been working so hard on.
I admit - the controls are a bit wacky, so what can I do?
Absolutely nothing...the forum doesn't support it and doesn't allow me to do any coding to help you guys .
Now the important question is what can YOU do?
Well now I have an answer - Browser plug-in called Lazarus.
Lazarus is a free plug-in for your internet browser which simply "has your back" when faced with a browser glitch or a crash. Current versions of Lazarus support the following internet browsers - Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome.
I know, Internet Explorer is what some of you use and I've looked for a form recovery app...unfortunately I came up with nothing. Lazarus may be coming out with an IE version of this app, but there seems to be a form of encryption to be dealt with, so there is no definite date when an IE version will be available... if at all.
For now All I can offer is a text recovery solution for the above listed browsers, personally I've been using Firefox and recommend it to all of my friends, so try it out...you won't be sorry.
Downloads..Enjoy!
Screenshots:...click on Spoiler to expand it.
Install, Restart browser, and enjoy the freedom of hitting all the wrong buttons, be it intentionally or not...you can now always restore your text.
Hope this Helps.
Ivo
PS: Please consider donating to the Lazarus team, the app is great and is
very useful in getting you out of many other non-forum related browser
glitch&crash situations. You can visit Lazarus Home-page by following this Link.
