    Don´t know whether it is known or not.
    Anyway here is a link to vikingsword.com with a thread about a private crossbow collection which seems to me very worthy to have a look at.
    Especially the cranequins (I never saw any with their "Zeigeblättchen" (spanning indicators) between the claws before) are more than impressive.

    Wonderful ! The cranequins and crossbows and bolts are not only artifacts but works of art. The metal work , etching and engraving ........ 'can hardly believe they could do it in those times ......... fascinating. Thanks
