So looking at my crossbow after taking it to the range. I noticed how far the string was traveling up the ramp after the shot.
The red line is were the string sits when it is nocked and the blue line shows the extent of the string travel. I noticed this when I was looking at it after practice and noticed how far up the ramp the string had rubbed. If I had a better camera I could get a picture but it is kind of subtle. Just something to keep in mind if someone is building a crossbow and want to use a dovetail style bolt rest. Just make sure it gets far enough forward.
