Qin/Han lock drawings Empty Qin/Han lock drawings

    Post by ora8i Sun Aug 21, 2022 1:26 pm

    Hi.

I have found lots of pictures of the bronze locks and some drawings but nothing with a proper set of measurements  or a cad drawing.

If you could post a link or a set of drawings I would very much appreciate  it.

    Many Thanks   ora

Send me your email address.  I am a moderator at ATARN and have access to the files there, where years ago Stephen Selby disassembled an original Han lock and has it laid out on grid paper.

    Thanks Ken.

That's certainty  on the massive side and as the text suggests probably  bigger than needed.

Even if it is "big"  the proportions should be right. Smile which will make it possible to scale.

    Thanks Again.   Ora

Exactly.  As Stephen says, make it 50-60% the size of the original any you've still got a really useful lock.  Pair it with a loose-laminate bamboo prod -- cheap and easy to make and adjust.

    Ken.

I have found a Fusion360 (Cad) drawing of a plastic Crossbow but the cnap how made it included a fill cad drawing of a Han Lock.

The Cad is easy to modify to make it into a real metal lock. shall I post the link?

Sure == add the link.  Why not, as long it's acceptably Public Domain...
