    Hello all,

I am a long time archer shooting traditional long bows and recently had a chance to fire a fellow members medi evil styled crossbow. I immediately fell in love with it and thought I must build one Very Happy of course there is a lot of material floating around but no complete plans from what I have been able to see, I have seen a few of the projects on here and they look wonderful. If anyone can point me in the right direction to where I should start reading it would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing more from the members on here.

    Welcome Gambisi
Look at the lower right margin and find Alchem inc and go to their web site and look at the free crossbow plans ............. might be a good start, then just explore this web site........... you'll have a blast !

Yes, Alchem's free plan is a good place to start for a more or less medieval type crossbow.  A careful perusal of pics online, with a few trips to museums will give you some cool ideas for additional details.  Geezer

    Chaz thanks,

I had a look and it does indeed give some good ideas, Geezer I have indeed been to a local museum recently and found quite a few designs that I liked. I have all the materials I need and an extensive work shop so the question now is what type and design to go for
