    will try to get them on a host later, way to many things going on, pics are of a crossbow I made, alchem prod, hand made irons, antler nut, wood stock with inlay. saw many of the cross bows in the armoury rooms in museums around the world,(saw the chinese lock, in china last year,)

    Dang that is a fine looking crossbow. Almost as nice as mine Razz You did some really nice work work I like it.

    Any details on how you did the bolt clip? is that wood or metal?

    the bolt clip is dogwood, fun wood to work with almost as heavy as blackwood, found a piece that had grain pattern that matched the curves needed, the trigger lever is made from a broken fencing foil, had a friend that was a member of a club, all the beat,broken and bent bladed were tosed into a barrel, he brought most of that barrel once, very good source for high carbon steel..

    some inlay, some surface lamination, the plug furthest back is because I drilled the stock for a goats foot post if needed , so far hand cocking (with a leather tabbed glove) has worked fine, I really want to do an asian moteaf bow, chinese lock, composite bow, lots of inlay with carving, we have thousands of pics(no crap, digital is great) from a china,tibet, japan trip we took a 1.5 years back.

    That will be great, personally I haven't seen many intact Asian crossbows, and what I did see were non functional reconstructions made for display-only purposes...other than that just bits and pieces of stocks and triggers, also not much on bows, but if you have any information confirming that they were similar in composition to the vertical horn bows of the time, I will be glad to to take part in the discussion.

    Also forgot to ask, what are the spec's on the above crossbow? with the goat's foot planned and all... Smile
