    If anyone is interested in a great glue that is not marketed (and price inflated) for archery check out Hot Stuff Super 'T'. I fletched some cedar shafts with Flex-Fletch vanes and used Super 'T' to attach them. This stuff leaves hardly any flash and sets up in about 45 seconds so fletching moves right along. Was out shooting them through the backboard today and not a single vane was detached or loose. If you decide to give it a try, suggest you invest in a couple of extra caps/dispensers Brownell sells also.

    Guys: If any body out there makes their own bolts (arrows) and is need of a great glue. Try Duco Cement (glue). That will cost you about $2.99 > 3.99. A great product at a low price. Can be found in the local hobby shop or purchase from 3-Rivers Archery shop on the inter-net. Everybody have a good day. Michael

    I've been using Gorilla Impact Tough super glue with good results, but I'm always looking for alternatives, I'll go sneak a peak at this stuff! I had been using a fletching glue for a while but it took forever to set up and wasn't very durable in the end.

    Sugarbuzz: There been times where I couldn't fine any ( Duco Cement) It sounds silly but I actual wig out. It's good and it's strong. Good evening and great health?

    I've always been fond of Ambroid http://www.ottertooth.com/Canoe_pages/ambroid.htm

    It's a hold-over from my model airplane building youth. It's not necessarily any better than any other celluloid acetate glue, but the smell takes me back....

    I like Gorilla super glue, but for those intereset, here is a link to a build-along for making a stone age arrow using all stone tools and materials. Good info on making earth paints, and also using hide glue for the fletching. I realize this is not totally applicable to the medieval period, but the way he processes and prepares feathers alone is worth the time to read the thread.

    Duco cement is my all-time favourite for fletching my regular arrows. For crossbow bolts, I prefer Loctite superglue. Dries in about five seconds. Take about a minute--tops--to fletch a bolt.

    I can second the Gorilla Impact Tough sg. I have been using it for vanes as well as glue on tips and I have even repaired cracked wood arrows with it with great success. I can't say enough about it. Haven't lost a vane or tipsince I started using it. I can get a 1.5oz bottle for about $5 here.
