    "Steven's Arbalest' Empty "Steven's Arbalest'

Post by Rocks Wed Jul 04, 2012 2:12 am

Neutral I recently acquired a 'Steven's Arbalest'. It is a wood, brass, aluminum & fiberglass gun-stock-looking affair that apparently has a 'Repeater', pump-style action. This crossbow came w/about 6, 2-fret bolts in kind of poor condition (Frets damaged, likely from age) but the crossbow itself is in very, very good condition. HELP! Does anybody out there know about these items & how on earth do I string the thing? Any info, or a link to a users' manual or something would be very helpful. Thank you, Rocks

George Stevens was a crossbow maker who lived in Arkansas (USA) He's considered the grandfather of modern American crossbow makers. Stevens made a slide-operated repeating crossbow, based broadly on the Chinese repeater. There is a book by Stevens on crossbows and crossbow construction. It's poorly laid out, but has lots of useful information.
