    Hello everyone my name is Don and i am from New Jersey, very interested in making my own crossbow, was wondering if anyone sells a kit so i can learn how to put one together myself, also what is the best way to carve out, or machine out, the area where the roller style string release is, Ive seen some on the internetnet that have a cap on the side to access the trigger, roller area, I aslo like the push pin style too, but think the roller is better and more effecient.

    Hope you guys dont mind me asking questions that you've probably already answered a million times,lol

    Thanks

    Don A.

    Hi Don;

    Ken Hulme here, down on the Gulf Coast of Florida. I'm new here too sorta. Lots of good stuff to suss out. And lots of very experienced help. As far as I can see there aren't any real "kits" in the sense of everything in one package. But there are a couple places you can go to get almost everything except a hardwood 2x6 for the tiller.

    www.slowbowscrossbows.com seems to have everything - several kinds of locks, an array of prods and strings, etc. at reasonable prices.

    Alchem - listed on the right side of these pages - has prods, plans, lock parts also

    I suspect the easy way to mortice out the roller nut area is to use an appropriate size of Forstner drill bit. The area for the tickler etc. I'm going to cut with a chisel I suspect.
