Hi, my name is Robbie and I have an obsession with medieval times that has driven me here. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the first steps I need to take to get started on building a crossbow. I've no clue where to start, but I'm hoping that once I do, I'll be able to get expert at it. Thanks to anyone who helps out!

Read the Glossary listed on the right side of this page, so that when you ask questions you'll use terms that everyone understands.

Decide on a region and period -- 15th century Flemish for example. The look on the New World Arbalest site (also on the right of this page) and study the various tiller profiles that Iolo/Geezer shows there relating to different periods/places, and see what turns you on.

Another place that sells everything you'll need (except the wood for the tiller) is www.slobowcrossbows.com

Read everything in the Medieval section here, and you'll find answers to questions that you did not even know needed to be askedHello, I'm a noob. 207946
