Did Olden Bolts take my money and run? Empty Did Olden Bolts take my money and run?

    Post by villista22 Fri Sep 09, 2011 9:44 pm

I don't like to make posts like this. But I have tried to contact Olden Bolts three times in regards to my order placed on June 29th. I contacted them around a month or so after I placed the order, and got a reply saying my bolts would ship within a week. Since then I have inquired about the status of my order and have received only silence. I am used to hand made items taking time to produce and am a patient man, but at this point I can only assume the worst. I don't know if anyone from Olden Bolts frequents this forum (if so please PM me), or if anyone knows what happened to Olden Bolts. Another few weeks of silence and I suppose I'll have to deal with Paypal in regards to getting my money back. Again, I don't like making these sorts of things public but I am at wits end. And I apologize to Olden Bolts if they are acting in good faith, and will gladly speak their praises if I get a response, or better yet, get some quality bolts of which I can say good things. I only ask a quick reply so I know where I stand.

    Hi John,

I haven't done any business with Olden Bolts, but I did get a chance to speak with the owner a few times. Good guy.

He's registered on this forum under the name Silly Person, but visits rarely. From what I hear, he's a busy "hands on everyhting" guy and is a "little" late sometimes.

I think there are people on the forum that know the man personally and might be able to forward your concerns to him.

    Hope everything works out.

    Ivo

    PS:

If I'm not mistaken...Olden Bolts is located in Texas...and Texas is on fire. pale

Geezer here: John-Jim Atwood, at Olden Bolts is a friend. Send me an e mail: info@crossbows.net
I'll make sure Jim gets on the ball and delivers your bolts.

What Geezer said. Olden Bolts is reliable, and I am sure it is a misunderstanding.

As for Texas being on fire, yeppers, we are. I live in Elgin, which is about 20 miles north of the biggest devastation. More than 1000 homes have been lost, thousands evacuated, many friends among them, and several acquaintances lost homes. And the fires are not out yet....the biggest is somewhat contained, tho.
The 'grass' here crunches to dust when you walk on it, the farmer's markets all closed, they can't grow crops.
The wind was blowing south during the days of Bastrop County being on fire, so we, a little north, were fairly safe. But, I DID start thinking on an evacuation plan.... it is entirely likely (inevitable, really) we will have more fires. And, I'm in the country, surrounded by acres of tinder dry pasture and trees. If one idiot throws a cigarette out a car window....

    Scary...

Folks are caring for each other tho, we'll pull thru.

    Best!

    Hi Lightly,

I have been in touch with Geezer via email and it seems everything is going to work out. As I said, I don't like posts like that, but became concerned when contact was lost. I tried to be as diplomatic as possible, in the hopes folks here would be able to help - which turned out to be the case Smile Perhaps I could have picked a different title for the post.

I sincerely hope that you are spared the fires and I hope you get some real precipitation soon! We have been surrounded by flooding up here, thankfully our family has not been struck by it. If we could we would send some of this rain your way Smile

    Alas these are trying times.

    Regards,

    John

Glad to see this is getting resolved in a decent manor.

Lightly- Sounds like a tense situation over there. I was trying to get the rain we were getting yesterday to move east but it wouldn't listen to either reason or threats.
