Post by ferdinand Sat Sep 28, 2013 2:58 pm

    Hello everyone,

    long time no see!
    sorry, i've been really busy!
but i came across this movie from our friend Joerg from the famous slingshot channel.
He has a bad accident, dont watch it if u have a bad heart or cant handle blood!
i dont want to scare people but it just goes to see that safety comes first!!
I would like to wish Joerg and his family  all the best and hope he makes a speady recovery!

I've only seen a few of his videos but I cringe every time I see one, some of it is interesting stuff but the carefree attitude towards safety is hard to watch.

Anyway it looks like a potentially serious injury and I wish him a fast and full recovery. Kudos to him for posting this video and giving his viewers a reminder of how dangerous that stuff can be.

Ouch, hope he's okay.  Looks like Joerg was fortunate to have a level headed assistant.

There's lots of talk at Joerg's forum than this is a "stunt" video, possibly to promote his upcoming zombie movie and show off the FX guys' talents.  No word from Joerg himself yet, but it seems likely to be the case.  At least I genuinely hope it is. Shocked

    Ferdi,
Good to hear from you! I was wondering what you were up to, along with a couple of others who have dropped off the forum lately. As for Joerg, I certainly hope that he's OK, and 99.9 percent sure that he is. Bravo to him! He had me going throughout my first viewing, up until the end. A few more views, pausing at certain times, and it's pretty clearly staged. I choose to believe that he left those gaffes intentionally, so that his audience would not be too taken in, rather than to think he was really trying to make people think he shot himself in the head and did an amateurish job of it. I won't go into the frame by frame details, that's been done to death already.
    Cheers!

You're not alone.  I almost threw up when I first saw it.  Blood doesn't particularly bother me in and of itself, but actually seeing the act of someone getting hurt is very upsetting, especially someone you know, even if it's just via the internet.  It was only after checking in at his forum that I had any notion it was fake.  I've been following Joerg's inventions for several years, and I know he can sometimes have a wicked sense of humor, but he really outdid himself with this one.Shocked  Laughing

If u cant afford to buy it, build it! Or buy broken and fix it!!
Haha, and i love almost anything old and mechanical!!!
I would love to own a pre  WW2 indian scout! And maybe a chief?!!
    But i'm no rich guy!
So a Kawasaki Drifter filled in for the chief, put a few old parts on it.
And the scout, well, my first bike whas a 1978 kawasaki z200, i still own it but its in really rough state and not worth restoring.
So.... Rebuild it and make a 'scout'!!
I made a webb style girder fork and cut off the rear of the bike and made it into a hard-tail.
Now i need to get my hands on a HD or Indian seat pan with springs. And some old footboards!!! And lots of other small stuff, switches, tail-light(the round one wit chromed 'stop' sign), u name it.
But here in holland there is not much of that stuff around.

    Anyone have something lying around??
