New compound crossbow build Empty New compound crossbow build

    Post by asken92 Tue Jun 10, 2014 4:56 pm

So, i've bought myself a pair of mk-250 compound crossbowlimbs for my new crossbow build. (mankung 250).
But i ran into som problem stringing it! Really cant figure out how to string it. i tried for 6 hours with diffrent strategies.. If someone has some knowledge in compound crossbows, or have a mk-250 strung and could post some pictures would be awsome..
Enough about that, i'll post some pictures on the build also!
    Enjoy!

No experience on stringing these.  Just a note to say this looks like it's going to be a great project!

ooh to bad;/ im a really in a pickle right now. just because i cant string it so the project is on hold until i can get it fixed. Because until then i dont know how far i need to cut the aluminium profil to get the right draw lenght. Thanks, i will keep updating.. just because i couldnt keep work on it, i decided to make a pistol crossbow. ill take some photos of that build to. Smile

You need some kind of bow press.

    There is an improvised one

I know I tuned in here pretty late but, I'm gonna tell you anyways. It is real easy to make a set of regular pipe clamps into a real sturdy and quick to use bow press. It would make stringing your style of bow easy. I've used one for years on heavy compound bows. The winch strap works fair, but if your into this stuff the clamp is much faster and has the same adjustable range, and in my opinion , faster and SAFER.

Asken92, you have made a nice trigger-mech! But I want to ask why you don't connect the trigger directly to the lever that holds the locking-lever? The rotation-points are close together and the length of the levers, where they connect, is almost the same??
