    hi folks!

    Either my search skills are lousy, or, I did not see the photos on this forum.
    However, I am looking for photos of a crossbow bolt presentation bow.
    I would like to try to make one (or more...)
    But, frustratingly, I cannot find the photos any more.
    Can anyone point me to such photos?

    Yes! Thank you! I found a couple of boxes in some books here at the shop, very fancy...
    And, I was also thinking of this box in this photo, as well. I wanted to see some different options, before trying to make one.

    Very nice!  I believe I need to make some of those, as well, for myself.. I want to make a fancy-ish box as a thank you gift to a museum curator, who is allowing me to get my eyeball prints, (but NOT fingerprints, as I will be wearing gloves...) all over some lovely old bows.
    If you do not mind, (and I am ok if you do) do you have some closer shots of these handsome boxes? And, perhaps, the inside?
    And, did you forge, or, cut, or buy, the metal hinges? That would be a great sturdy box for traveling,  and storing. 
    I do woodwork, but not really box making, and the like. Maybe it is time to learn that, as well.

    I'll try to answer as best.
     for large chests, I forge hinges (steel 3 mm) for small, they are cut (1mm) I'll redo pictures. 
    We obtain good results with  brass(it is easy to work)Bolt presentation box? Coffre11

    Jmc, this is marvelous; again, thank you!

    I have been wanting to make one for some time now, and, I am pleased to say, I just met a wood worker neighbor, not half a mile down my country lane, here in central Texas. I have been helping his grandson learn how to build a crossbow, and in turn, he is going to teach me a little bit of box making. 
    With these photos, his help, and a great book that Geezer bought, I think I am well on my way.
