steel loose laminate bow

I have gathered my material for my bow. I 've never done this before and most of it straight forward. I ran into a term that I need some one to explain. It is "tip rise". I need to understand this before I start cutting AND wish that I didn't. I want to make this my first kinda shot at a early type bow.A couple of prods have this "tip rise" in thier specs.I need to know how to arrive at this.Sorry, I didn't mention that this is simple taper design.

The tips are rised by a couple of cm above the center so that the bowstring will be also lifted. This will decrease its friction with stock. In order to further decrease it, the bow is installed with some angle relative to the stock. Some cheaper bows didnt have that rise, and were straigth, so the same friction problem was solved entirely by making an encreased angle. The drawback of this second method is obvious: entire draw path of the bowstring is not parallel with the stock. When fired it strikes the bolt from above and then goes down following the vector of force. This can result in decreased accuracy and loss of energy, which goes into friction. So I suggest u read the book, it has drawings in it
