    Hi--i want to put a layer of faux ivory
       on the top of the  crossbow i am
       building--anyone done this and how
       did it it work out??
        What thickness do you use ??

    It all depends on how much carving way of wood you want to do.  I've used 1/8" thin faux ivory on several projects.  I don't inset it completely, which allows me to sand it down flush..
