    Hi guys as the title says im very new to the crossbow world.. My interests in building things and hunting with said things has recently brought my attention to crossbows.. I am from the not so great state of NY lol (we have a lot of regulations and rules) that said our department of conservation has passed a new law making crossbows legal to hunt with this coming deer season.. and me being who I am decided that I wanted to make a crossbow, and I believe I have decided on building a leaf spring crossbow.. I have moderate knowledge and a lot of experience with compound bows and bow hunting.. So you'll have to bear with me for the things idk about crossbows.. I enjoy reading all of your posts and learning as much as I can thank you to the guys who post regularly and share information

    Welcome Pellethuntr, I also thought I would never see crossbow hunting in Pa. but it is here! I had a crossbow even when we could not hunt with them just for the novelty of it. As far as prods go you may want to try something from Ebay, much less work than trying to make one from a leaf spring. Here is a link:
