I actually joined over the summer but was unable to introduce myself then. Last spring I got a western bow #2c from New World Arbalest and have been hooked. Right now shooting is consuming me but I wouldn't mind eventually trying my hand at construction. Great to find a group like this.

Hi Tim and Welcome to the forum!

Yes Crossbows are consuming and "building crossbows" is addictive!...you've been warned! Smile

Jokes aside, glad to see you jump in and I'm sure that project of yours will get rolling smoothly with our group at your side. We just started putting together a Wiki on Crossbow Building and Basileus(founder & curator of the Wiki) has already put in a good load of info, so make sure to give it a look. (Link)

By the way...New World Arbalest gang is here too, Geezer(David) and Lightly always show up with fantastic tips and showing off their quality craftsmanship. It seems they are at an SCA event right now, but I'm sure they appreciate your good word on their crossbow.
