    Greetings all,

I have only been doing this crossbow stuff for about 3 months and I have to say that I'm pretty well HOOKED! Just wondering if any of you guys are in or was in the same boat as me. The wife says " Crossbow this-Crossbow that" She's got a big surprise coming when I start using my bolts for eating utensils! Lol.

Thought I'd throw in a little humor!

Do what I do, remind your wife that you could be out in a bar drinking with the buds or women of questionable intent, or she could be a sports widow. With crossbows, you are nearby in the shop and close at hand Smile

Another nice trick is to use the skills you develop making crossbows to make her something. I have done that with different household projects, it works like a charm.

Your wife is lucky you have only one crossbow. My poor wife is surrounded by crossbows to the left and right, and then some scattered parts and projects here and there.

Then there are the holes in this and that from shooting in the house...

Bro, there is far more than one crossbow around the house! She always comments on the peculiar things that keep coming in the house - horn, bone, industrial plastics, stone, wood, spears, atlatls, darts, and other things. One of the strangest things I own is a M38A2 100-lb. practice bomb from WWII. They called them bluebirds, they were hollow bombs that you filled with sand from a cap at the fin end. My wife was the one who suggested I suspend it by wires above my desk. Looks great there, too. Smile

warhammer, as of right now it is only one. I do have the parts for my second build as well as some stock of maple and walnut scattered in my office. Wife says " You are going to have that stuff every where" So I started working on a concrete slab in the back for a shop. As far as holes here and there I don't think I'm that brave! LOl

Because of this Parkinson that I got the only thing I can do is making of the bolts (arrows),Like I said that medieval weapon is in my blood (better then medication) The wife is a lucky lady you could be at the bar etc, etc. Also you will meet a lot of nice people in this world of ours. World wide friends. Enjoy your new hobby to the max. Mike

Michael, good to see you keep yourself busy making arrows. Since you work with wood already, why not add slingshots to your crafting? There are some incredible craftspeople making some truly beautiful flippers...

My family is taking it pretty well...my frinds just love joking about me...especially if I'm talking to the ladies ~ *hey, ask him about his hobbies Laughing Laughing Laughing * ...which sounds sooo damn incriminating and I just have to get my list out. "Crossbow this-Crossbow that" 600276

So far, can't complain - everything works for my benefit. king

Best wishes to you all and your families. Oh, by the way - I bet your wives are just a bit jealous ~ I bet they'd love to have a bow of their own (but keep in mind, you might need to carve roses into the stock or something tongue )

As far as any of my interests or projects ( now of which includes the fascination with crossbows) my wife reminds that, " You are a dreamer !" I have found the best response is "Yes and you are one of them."

Don't pay too much attention to what I say, one of my lattesrt interests is rattlesnakes and I believe diesel fuel should be a man's cologne.
