Where to buy a crossbow Empty Where to buy a crossbow

Post by Austr Tue Apr 17, 2012 12:06 pm

    Hi,

I am new to this forum and maybe i am on the wrong forum... anyway, my question is: Can anybody advise where to order a 14th (or early 15th) century crossbow & quaranquin (or maybe goats foot) in europe?

I have been for several (many) years walking arround the "getting a medieval crossbow and trying it out" idea and non its time...but i have my hands full of other projects, soooo

It can be either a steel bow or horn bow crossbow, preferably a german or north european/scandinavian type. It has to be from europe/EU.

I hope that somebody can help me. Thank you.

Lets get the imporant stuff out of the way. Welcome and all that.

So as to your question. I know of a couple:

Todd's Stuff http://www.todsstuff.co.uk/crossbows/crossbows.htm Mostly custom work REALLY nice crossbows. While I would love to get one of his bow, I have had my eye on his lachet bow for years, they are spendy. But if you want the best...

The other is Digitarc: http://www.digitarc.com/ I don't know much about this compay, other hopefully will have better reviews. But they seem to be able to deliever what you want and I think are located in Europe.

There are likely other companies but I just don't know enought about the European crossbow scene to make a recomendation beyond the above.
