    First topic message reminder :

    Hey Everyone,

With the Halloween knocking on our doors "Sanguinarian" ~ [Rene' Campbell inspired :) ] - Page 2 951629...

...I thought I'd go with the spirit and build something dark and unique to bring to the table. Luckily, I stumbled upon some very inspiring art by a young Australian artist - Rene' Campbell.

...with pieces like these rolling around in my head...

I did a few sketches of my own...(no camera today...so just a quick MS-Paint sketchup)

Going to be a nice build with a trigger similar to AboMickey's Pistol-x-bow trigger (love that one Very Happy) and the shimmed prod as was seen in Todd the Archer's builds.

I will be posting some build-along progress photos once my camera charges up a bit. And as promised (if all goes well) a quick video of it in action from the party shoot.

    See you all soon.

Thanks guys, good to be back.

African Archer, likewise Very Happy, love your bows man.

Gnome...Hell yeh! You have no idea how much I missed this place, just all this lame stuff in the way...school/work/etc...but hey...moved the shop into lab's basement and now got an hour a day to dedicate to the grinding stone...*broke the pattern* so to speak.

Though, I haven't been completely useless. Gonna put in some more time into the bow tonight, but for now, if interested, check out some of the other projects I did (actually started another business while at it tongue )

Good to be back guys, Enjoy.

Whups! Forgot to say, "WOW"... I cannot wait to see that thing once done. Nice!

Busy and broke here, too, just finished a long project for a client, crammed with R&D, some mistakes, some accidents, and more, came out nice, but, I made 50 cents an hour on that thing.
    Maybe.

Thinking, the next one that nice, might make a buck fifty!
    But, welcome back.
    You were missed.

Oh Ay...I definitely hear ya Lightly.

Custom work is, and especially when it's hand made, is no place for those who like to take the easy way. I'm really glad to be in company (even if it's several states away) of people who put their heart and soul into their work.

However, one thing I think you guys would definitely benefit from is this doodad if you and Geezer wanna try throwing one together.

Matthias Wandel has some building tips on them and there are free plans available online as well.

    Dave Gatton's ~ Duplicator (PDF)

Look up "Dave Gatton" on youtube, he made detailed assembly video to accompany his plans.

This copy router thing has been on my mind for a long time, think if one can save time on roughing out a stock, more time can be dedicated to more detail oriented work or just over all cut down build time without compromising quality...so why not, right? Smile

Just throwing it out there in case you guys might be interested. Tool rant aside, I also gotta say...your Ulrich looks bad ass, some very nice details in there...stirrup, tickler, bone clip and inlay...I can tell you put quite the effort in. Awesome build. drunken

As for me, I'm in for a treat (and some sore fingers) putting the cuts into the other side of the stock with my trusty Exacto.

*Oof*...no duplicator can save me here. tongue
