    Hello All!
I am in prosecc of building my first crossbow, midieval style.
I'm a member of the Kingdom Of Terre Neuve, in the Adrian Empire.
we are NOT the SCA so crossbows are not used pre se, but I can enter it to gain arts points tward knighthood.
I ordered the parts from Alchem...IF i ever receive the prod and string I can begin!

Greetings and welcome to the forum.
You have come to the right place for crossbow building. There is plenty of knowledge to be had here among the community.
Good luck with Alchem, and post your progress.

Greetings, MT. "This is the place" as someone famous once said about something else... LOTS to learn here.

Hadn't heard of the Adrian Empire, so had to look it up. Very interesting. Doesn't seem that they (yet) have any groups in my locale (south WEST Florida, not southeast). I was in the SCA for many years, many years ago.

Good luck with Alchem. Lots of folks seem to have trouble getting product from them in anything like a reasonable time. There are other suppliers out there.... check around here for names and links.

Both pinlock actions and roller nut actions would certainly be suitable for Western Europe in that period. Look at Geezer's Padre Island bows (roller nut) and the Skane bows (pinlock) for inspiration.
