Robin Allen crossbow Empty Robin Allen crossbow

Post by triggersmith Fri Aug 23, 2013 2:24 pm

Greetings.  I have one of Robin Allen's competition crossbows and need a set of prods for it. The length is 17.5 inches x 1 11/16" at root and tapers to 1" at the tip.  The last one he sent me was about 100 lbs and just right.  Some fool at a gun store I worked at (it was on display with a sign that said do not touch) thought it would be ok to cock and release without a bolt in it and shattered one of the limbs
Robin sent me 2 more sets, one is heavy probable 150lbs or so, I'm not sure the trigger mechanism was designed for that heavy a prod, and the other just needs the fiberglass roots and tips glued on and finished.  Since I move to New Hampshire I don't have a workshop.  Any help out there.  I sure miss Robin.  Long Live the King Troll
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Robin Allen crossbow Empty prod for Robin Allen Crossbow

Post by triggersmith Mon Aug 26, 2013 9:19 pm

    Greetings Todd,
You will find all the info you need on my post on selling my Robin Allen crossbow. The one set I have is a 250 lb. set and I don't think that trigger system will hold it.  Maybe so.  I don't think I can cock it though.  The bow is more for a 100 lb. prod for competition. I has a window in the riser hence the two piece prod.  I really like your crossbows.  I want to get into something smaller like yours and less complicated.  Would you be interested in doing some swapping?
