    Hi Everyone,

    Mr. Robin Allen has been admitted to hospital today with yet another infection which means he will be unable to respond to any enquiries etc. Although he has not yet registered on this forum we all know that he is a true and kind crossbowman if ever there was one.

    Right now he needs all of our prayers and good wishes.

    Get well soon Robin and God Bless.

    Get Well wishes for Robin! Hope he gathers his strength and get's out of this one quick.

    I understand he is no longer a young lad anymore and time and age are taking what is theirs, but really...How serious is his condition?

    Hi Ivo,

    I'm delighted to tell you that Robin underwent recent surgery and is now recovering in a Vancouver hospital. The prognosis looks good and with our continuing prayers and well wishes he should be back at his bench in the Den very soon. However I doubt that he will be hand-spanning any crossbows for a while. Ouch Robin Allen Icon_sad

    I believe in Robin, no doubt he can get back on his feet and be off to enjoying life in no time. Hand spanning a crossbow? I'm sure Robins expertise will allow him to fabricate even the most exquisite of spanning devices whether external or built into the crossbow.     OH that is so good to hear that Robin is fine, quite sincerely I was kinda worried as I wrote to Wendy and never got a reply. Well all that matters is that he is fine and on his way to recovery.

    Dear Robin is not yet out of the woods as we say, but today is his 74th birthday and regretfully he has to spend it in hospital there on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.

    I trust you will all join me in wishing a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Robin and please God make him soon well again.

    Dear Friends,

    Just a quick update on Robin.

    I've just spoken to his wife who tells me that Robin is in an islolation unit at their local hospital. However he is now fighting off a VRE super-bug infection that he picked up from the main hospital and until that clears up he will have to remain where he is. But he is mobile and responding to the treatment he is getting, and it is obvious that our prayers are working too. Robin Allen Icon_biggrin

    One of his local friends bought a laptop for Robin which he is now watching movies on whilst in bed. It is hoped that a hotspot is available whereby he can get online and read the crossbow news from around the world; especially on these great pages. Robin Allen Icon_cool

    Robin is due to be released from his local hospital today and there is a message to that effect on his website. He is still very weak but with some ongoing prayers and best wishes from around the world, along with some home cooking and sunshine, he should soon be back in his Den where he belongs.     Robin Allen Empty Our Friend is Gone

    Very sorry to report that I have been just notified our friend Robin Allen has passed away. After months of fighting his illnesses Robin has left us. His passing has left a huge hole in my heart. He was my friend and my mentor. I will miss him terribly.

    Dear Friends,

    There have been some lovely words and tributes written in honour of dear Robin Allen and I thank you sincerely for yours. Undoubtedly there are many others who just can't find words to say at a time like this, but their presence is felt. Many have written in to the Excalibur Forum and to Crossbows on Archery Talk. Robin is known world wide and his influence is simply outstanding. He will be missed.
