    Me, you have very excellent layout skills. I like they way you made the catch hook also. All in all you have  made a great looking piece. Are you thinking of using  a ratchet or not. I don't know what was used originally.Keep up the good work, it really looks cool.I have made wooden geared clocks using your method.
