I started in december 2017 with this build. My intention was to make my own laminated limbs, because of the weight advantages. After 7 tries I decided to go for steel limbs, and in a few months I could finish it all.
The bow is very accurate at 20 yards. Testing at longer distances is to come.
I am very satisfied with the trigger mech. The triple action causes very little friction and is very light to pull.

Honestly I did not believe this was a one-off build until I watched the video. Thanks for including your trial and errors with the limbs! I love learning from other peoples mistakes. Over 4 years? Afraid I probably would have given up after the first limb failure and moved on. Impressive project.

WOW! Gorgeous crossbow! If you did not share it was homemade, I would have sworn it was manufactured by Tenpoint or some of the others. Congratulations!

Thanks my fellows. But I still wonder if it is anyway possible to make your own laminated limbs for a compound crossbow. Are is it just not possible to make such limbs at home because of the short length of the limbs en the amount of force on the limbs??

I would say mostly for sure. Have you tried to google subjects that will teach you. It will be tough for sure but not impossible. Study the materials used and how they are glued and at the same time compressed. Even steel can be laminated but, not with glue. I've done this with mixed results. I've also had good success modding bypassed compound bows. So , ya , I think if you study it up and you will make it work . Start small and light. Nothing ventured , nothing gained. Have fun ,chuck

Hi Chuck, I studied quite some for the 7 attempts I made. I have to gather courage to start again. What do you mean by ‘modding bypassed compound bows’?

Frenck, by modding I mean to use what can be used to make yourself a different bow. In this case ,you want to reverse draw, no big deal but, you'll have to make a limb mount ,strong enough to stand up under the strain .  Common compound bows  will , on average stand a max of 150 pds pull weight. I have killed several deer with such pieces. I commonly don't use a let off system of wheels . I don't need the let off. Straight wheels are easier for me to make any way. I can also make a longer draw that way. I don't shoot the tiny bolts . I shoot heavy , full length arrows . Kinetic energy is what penetrates and kills. I hope you get what I mean here.
